Sustainable Families – Canning: Salsa & Relishes
August 25, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Community Spotlight!
For the third workshop in our inaugural series, we wanted to shine a big spotlight on an incredible homestead business in our community: Generations Marketplace.
Owner, Heidi, and her family have opened up their 5th Generation family run farm so that the community at large can explore their heritage and experience the quality of life working and living off the land.
And lucky for us ALL, they have an incredible line-up of canning & homestead classes happening across the next several weeks and months. Check out their event listings here.
In particular, we wanted to highlight their next canning workshop:
CANNING SALSA & RELISHES!
Learn the most recent safety standards for canning and how to Hot Water Bath Can. You will go home with enough confidence and information to be able to hot water bath can on your own. You will also go home with a jar of salsa or relish.
Please email Heidi (generationsmarketplacealc@gmail.com) ASAP to book your spot. Class fees will have applicable sales tax added. Payment can be completed by etransfer or in store in advance of the class to hold your spot. Space is limited.
Hope to see you there!
~~ Sustainable Families Workshop Series ~~
‘Sustainable Families’ is a series of workshops designed to teach practical skills in self-sustainability. All events are also designed to intentionally bring your own family together, to learn and explore together, while building community with other like-minded families on a similar path.
We are SO excited to watch as new connections are sparked, and relationships formed throughout these workshops and events.
Most of our workshops will take place at Homegrown Hideaway, a glamping retreat and event venue, nestled between the Lynn River and Lynn Valley Trail near Port Dover, Ontario. Embracing the gifts of nature, owners Caroline and Jon have cultivated a sense of wonder and a feeling of calm on their property that is so special and rare.
But keep an eye out for “Community Spotlight” events (like this one!) taking place in other locations around Norfolk County, too!
